World Record-Holding Bar Uses TapHunter to Manage Beer Menu

The new world record-holding bar is now using TapHunter to manage and market their massive selection of tap handles. Raleigh Beer Garden (RBG), located in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina, is the new craft beer spot to cross off your bucket list. According to Forbes Magazine “North Carolina’s capital city has gone beer mad!” The bar is the current world record holder for having the greatest number of taps under one roof. Of the 366 beers on tap, roughly 144 North Carolina beers are accounted for and can be found on the bottom floor. The other 222 “worldly beers” are tapped on the bar’s second floor.

How does Raleigh Beer Garden manage this record-breaking selection of beers on tap? You guessed it– TapHunter. What is TapHunter? TapHunter is two things: an industry tool for bar and restaurant owners to manage their beverage program and a consumer-facing mobile app for those who love craft beer, spirits, and cocktails. Raleigh Beer Garden currently uses four digital beer boards from TapHunter to provide customers with the live beer list, displaying two downstairs and two upstairs.

TapHunter’s (TH) tools allow RBG to update their massive beer list (check out this selection!) in one place online. From here, the tools automatically update RBG’s website, social media, digital menu boards, print menus and profile on the TapHunter mobile app. Anyone using the TH app can view Raleigh’s live beer list at anytime with the swipe of a finger. The TapHunter tools save the staff at Raleigh Beer Garden many hours per week that would have been spent updating their beer list across multiple platforms. Now they can spend more time educating their staff and keeping customers happy with cold beer and great service.

For Immediate Release – July 22, 2015
Hibernian Management, Inc. is proud to announce the opening of its latest and largest endeavor in downtown Raleigh – The Raleigh Beer Garden is now open for business. The newest restaurant in Glenwood South features three floors of seating, and an expansive outdoor seating area that encompasses the building on three sides. The title of World’s Largest Draft Beer Selection is currently being verified via Greenroom Communications based in Raleigh, NC, and then submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records later this summer.

The Raleigh Beer Garden boasts a current setup of 366 draft beer taps that will encompass 144 North Carolina craft brews on the first floor aptly named the Carolina Garden alongside the second floor’s World Garden of 222 drafts from across the nation and around the world. The rooftop bar will also house an additional set of taps that will feature different seasons, events, specialty brews, etc. as we program that area for unique beer-related events, tastings, and so forth. The craft cocktail bar in the front of the restaurant is known as “Spiritual” and provides patrons with beverage options other than beer for those people looking for something to drink with a little bit of a kick to it.

The digital beer menu program TapHunter is being utilized to provide the patrons with a real-time updated list of beers available via smartphones, tablets, the website and app. The “rock stars” of the restaurant are the two custom-built refrigerators housing the 366 taps.  On the second floor, there is a glass wall which provides patrons with an opportunity to see part of the world’s largest draft system in action. Those patrons also get to see the nitrogen gas generators which create the gas mixtures for the nitrogenous beers right beside the refrigerator. The high level of design and implementation continues with the custom-milled counter tops that were made from the pecan trees on the property as the restaurant was being built.

Owner/Operator/Designer Niall Hanley says, “When I designed and built Hibernian Irish Pub, I wanted to bring a little bit of Ireland to Raleigh, with building and designing the Raleigh Beer Garden, I wanted to showcase North Carolina’s amazing craft brewing artistry to Raleigh and the rest of the world.”

The Raleigh Beer Garden is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. serving a full menu and the world’s largest collection of unique draft beers.
